X- Ray films contain halides (a form of silver) which when recycled can be extracted, and converted into pure silver.

Some Community Recycling Centres (CRC’s) in neighbouring Local Government Areas may accept x-rays for recycling (remove from envelopes) such as Thornleigh Community Recycling Centre at 29 Sefton Rd, Thornleigh. More information is available on the Hornsby Council website.
