Do you have clothing and accessories in good condition that you no longer wear? Bring your pre-loved, good quality items to our clothing swap event!

Council are partnering with Soroptimist International of The Hills District to bring you a free clothing swap event on Friday 26 September 5:30pm – 8pm at Council’s Admin Building at 3 Columbia Court, Norwest.

Bring up to 6 items of clothing or accessories that you no longer wear to swap. For each item you drop off, you will receive a token which can be used to swap another item.

Event schedule:

  • 5:30pm - 6:30pm check in your items
  • 6:30pm - 7:00pm housekeeping and presentation by Second Life Sewing and Upcycling
  • 7:00pm - 8:00pm clothing swap

This event is available to residents of The Hills Shire.

Do I need to book a ticket?

How does it work?

Bring up to 6 items of clothing or accessories that you no longer wear to swap. For each item you drop off, you will receive a token which can be used to swap another item.

What can I bring?

You can bring up to 6 items of clothing, accessories or shoes in good condition to swap. These will be checked for suitability and exchanged for tokens. Accepted items include:

  • Tops, shirts and blouses
  • Jackets, coats and jumpers
  • Pants, jeans and shorts
  • Skirts and dresses
  • Suits
  • Belts, scarves, ties, hats
  • Bags and shoes

What can’t I bring?

Please do not bring anything stained, torn, unclean or anything that is worn out. Non-accepted items include:

  • Underwear, socks and swimwear
  • Sportswear, activewear or tracksuits
  • Jewellery
  • Noticeably worn out, pilling or frayed items
  • Anything stained, torn or unclean

Please note that there is a quality screening process for clothing and accessories accepted for the swap. Items must be in good condition. 

What if I can’t find anything in my size?

We cannot guarantee that all sizes will be available to swap. If your size is not available, you can pass your tokens on to fellow swappers.

What if I can’t find anything I like to swap?

Please keep in mind that each swap is different, depending on what is brought on the day.

If you can’t find anything you like you can pass your tokens on to fellow swappers.

What happens to items that are not swapped?

Any items left over after the event are donated to a local charity.
