Step 1.New Online Payment Experience - Payble

The Hills Shire Council Payble Banner

Payble is a new online payment option to help you manage your rates.

Payble allows you to set up flexible payment plans that can be direct debited on a schedule that you decide.

With Payble you can:

  • Choose to pay your rates in smaller, more frequent payments (weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments or a one-off payment) and never forget a payment again
  • Check your balance at any time
  • Login and adjust how often you pay if your circumstances change
  • Set up recurring payments via bank account, credit or debit card
  • Receive an SMS reminder before your payment is due

 

To set up access to Payble follow the link below and then use your 7-digit assessment number found on any of your previous rates notices.

From February 2026 a QR code will be available on your instalment notices for a quick way to access Payble.

Step 2.BPAY

BPAY allows you the opportunity to pay over the phone, or through the Internet, from your cheque, savings, or credit card account (Bankcard or Visa MasterCard).

To make use of this option, you must initially contact your financial institution to ensure the BPAY facility is available at that institution.

Provided you have sufficient available credit or balance, the payment will be processed and you will be issued a receipt number for the bill payment.

 

Step 3.Post Billpay & Paypal

You can pay in person at any Post Office - Please present the notice intact. A paper receipt will be issued.

By phone - call 13 18 16.

Pay 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Please quote the POSTbillpay code of 0289 and your Postbillpay Ref No: as per the payment slip on the front of your rate notice.

By Credit Card (Mastercard & Visa Cards accepted):

PayPal payments are done via Postbillpay.

 

Please note that payments made via Australia Post, which require a refund due to duplicated payments, will incur a penalty charge as per Councils Fees and Charges (this penalty is not applicable to pensioners).

 

Step 4.CentrePay

Centrepay is a voluntary bill-paying service which is free for Centrelink customers. Use Centrepay to arrange regular deductions from your Centrelink payment.

You can start or change a deduction at any time. The quickest way to do this is through your Centrelink account online:

You will need to provide your individual Council Assessment Number on your Rates Notice as the Account Number for the Centrepay Deduction.

 

Step 5.Online Rates Portal

Council provides a rate payment service through the Internet using:

Step 1.Visit Council

 

You can pay in person by EFTPOS at all Council facilities - MasterCard or Visa cards are accepted

Please note: Cash and Cheque are not accepted.

 

Please present your intact rate notice to:

Council’s Customer Service Centre located at 3 Columbia Court, Norwest - Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Council’s libraries at Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Dural and Vinegar Hill Memorial Library Rouse Hill, during their opening hours.

A paper receipt will be issued.

Step 2.Visit an Australia Post Office

You can pay in person by:

  • EFTPOS (Mastercard or Visa Card are accepted)
  • Cash
  • Cheque payable to The Hills Shire Council

Please present the intact rates notice at any Post Office.
