Adoption of Amendments to Development Control Plans

Adoption of amendments to The Hills Development Control Plan (DCP) 2012, North Kellyville Precinct Development Control Plan 2018 and Box Hill Growth Centre Precincts Development Control Plan 2018 relating to the Construction and Dedication of Local Roads.

At its meeting of 8 June 2021, Council resolved to adopt draft amendments to The Hills Development Control Plan 2012, North Kellyville Precinct Development Control Plan 2018 and Box Hill Growth Centre Precincts Development Control Plan 2018 to clarify development controls relating to the construction and dedication of local roads.

The amendments relate to the following sections of each Development Control Plan:

• The Hills Shire DCP 2012 - Part A Introduction;
• North Kellyville Precinct DCP 2018 - Section 3.3.1 Street Network, Design and Hierarchy; and
• Box Hill Growth Centre Precincts DCP 2018 - Section 3.3.1 Street Network, Design and Hierarchy.

The amendments will clarify developers’ obligations with respect to the construction of local roads across The Hills Shire. The amendments reinforce the longstanding practice that developers are responsible for the provision of local roads as part of their development and are not entitled to be reimbursed for these works or the associated land dedication.

The amendments will come into force on the date of publication of this notice.
