Join us for our Repair Fair, a FREE community event for Hills residents designed to reduce waste by giving everyday items a second life.

Explore a range of repair and reuse stalls, book in your broken or worn items for a quick repair, and donate bicycles or mobile devices.


Event Details:

Date: Saturday 20 June 2026

Location: Castle Hill Showground

Time: 9 am - 1 pm

This event is available to residents of The Hills Shire - proof of residence is required.

Free coffee available until supplies last. Bring your reusable coffee cup and go into the draw to win a prize.

Repairs

In addition to repair demonstrations and expert advice available throughout the day, a limited number of short repair sessions can be booked for the following item types:

  • Appliances
  • Bikes (Check & Tune only)
  • Clothing
  • Jewellery
  • Small Furniture and Household Items
  • Timber Items.

Donations 

Bike donations

Revolve Recycling will accept donations of bicycles, scooters and e-bikes at our Repair Fair. They refurbish, repurpose, recycle and sell bikes with a mission to deliver bikes to Australian kids in need.


Acceptable (in any condition)

  • Bicycles
  • Scooters
  • E-bikes.


Not acceptable

  • Motorbikes
  • Exercise bikes.


Donation terms and conditions

  • Accepted items can only be donated at the Repair Fair on 20 June 2026
  • Items accepted are limited to those listed and may be declined on the day
  • Once accepted, donations cannot be returned

Device donations

The Reconnect Project will accept donations of mobile phones, tablets and laptops at our Repair Fair. They will erase data, repair and refurbish devices to close the digital divide for people experiencing disadvantage.


Acceptable (in any condition)

  • Mobile phones
  • Tablets
  • Laptops less than 10 years old.


Not acceptable

  • Desktops
  • Monitors
  • Printers
  • Batteries
  • Other electronics.


Donation terms and conditions

  • Once accepted, donations cannot be returned
  • Personal data should be removed from electronic devices where possible before donation

No, this is a free event for Hills Shire residents - proof of residence is required.

Do I need to book to attend the event?

No, you don’t need to book to attend the event or drop off donations. Simply stop by the Repair Fair between 9am and 1pm on Saturday 20 June 2026.

However, if you would like to attend one of our quick repair sessions, bookings are required.

How many items can I take to a repair session?

Each repair session is limited to one item only.

Each household may book one session per repair type (e.g. one bike repair, one clothing mending session and one furniture repair), subject to availability.

Do I need to book to drop off donations?

No, you don’t need to book to drop off acceptable bicycles or electronics. Simply stop by the Repair Fair between 9am and 1pm on Saturday 20 June 2026 to drop off your items.

Do I have to bring items?

No, you don’t have to bring bicycles or devices to donate, or book in a repair session. We have plenty of stallholders, activities and repair demonstrations to explore.
