In the past, free tickets were issued to Hills Shire residents on a first-come first-serve basis. However due to a significant number of no-shows and rising event costs, we no longer considered the ticketed system a fair use of Hills Shire ratepayer’s money. Therefore the event is now open to all, however attendees will have to pay for food and rides. The cost of ride tickets will be heavily subsidised by Council. Entry to the event remains free.
Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Make sure to get to Bella Vista Farm from 10am to avoid missing out!
All food and beverages will be available for purchase. You can enjoy a variety of delicious options, including ice cream, coffee, snow cones, and fairy floss. The Friends of Bella Vista Farm will run a sausage sizzle and serve Devonshire tea, both available for purchase. All proceeds raised by the Friends of Bella Vista Farm will be re-invested into the maintenance of the Farm.
An unlimited ride pass is $20, or you can purchase two rides for $10.
There are plenty of free activities for everyone to enjoy, including face painting, cookie decorating (while supplies last), roving entertainment, and craft sessions with The Hills Shire Library Team. Families can also enjoy the Cheeky Tunes Christmas Show and a range of inflatable outdoor games such as dartball, Shoot Four (a basketball version of Connect 4), diving goalkeeper, and passing duel. Additional outdoor games and activities will also be available throughout the day.
The event includes several initiatives to support accessibility and inclusion. A Sensory Sensitive Hour will run between 9am and 10am, during which no lights or music will be played on the rides. There will also be an Auslan Storytime session, and a quiet space will be available behind the Homestead near the fig trees. Additionally, the Sunflower Lanyard program will be in place to support individuals with hidden disabilities.
