Tennis players and cricketers in The Hills are in for a treat, with a major upgrade of the facilities at Crestwood Reserve nearing completion.

The upgrade at Crestwood Reserve includes:

  • Tennis courts -  new synthetic grass on courts 3 – 6; new fencing and energy efficient LED lighting
  • Hot shot tennis courts  - refurbishment of the hitting wall, new fencing, new painting
  • Cricket nets – two new synthetic grass practice wickets, new fencing enclosure

Hills Shire Mayor and West Ward Clr Dr Michelle Byrne said the works, an investment of more than $300,000, were about rejuvenating one of The Hills most popular parks.

”There’s been a large focus on getting new parks and sporting fields ready for the incoming populations, but we have not forgotten about our existing facilities,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Council has a stringent asset management program – which basically means we look after the community’s assets.”

“High quality parks and sporting facilities are appreciated by the public and we want to deliver better facilities for our residents in both new and established areas.”

“These facilities will give our residents more opportunities to swing a racquet or a bat and enjoy a fit and healthy lifestyle.”

The tennis courts and hitting wall are ready for use, with the cricket nets due for completion next week.
