Volunteering Opportunities with Council

The Hills Shire is very fortunate to have a large and dedicated group of volunteers who play a critical role in helping Council provide important services to the community.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of most community services and they create and maintain very strong community networks.

Volunteering not only benefits our Shire and residents, it can also benefit the volunteers themselves who form new friendships and learn new skills.

If you would like to devote some of your time to your community and assist others, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Join a Bushcare Group

Bushcare volunteers take on the vital role of protecting our fragile bushland environment, preserving natural flora and fauna and removing those that can be harmful to its future.

Community Environment Centre Volunteering

Help make a difference at the Community Environment Centre by becoming a volunteer!

Hills Youth Army

This group is for young visionaries interested in volunteering, participating in their local community and forming connections with their peers and the broader community.

Hills Community Care Volunteering

Join us and help make a difference in the lives of our elderly.

Duke of Edinburgh Program

Youth aged 14-24 registered to the Duke of Edinburgh Volunteer Program can assist The Hills Libraries.

Volunteer as a Justice of the Peace

Council is always seeking certified Justice of the Peace individuals to assist with up to 3 hours per week at Council or a local library.
