New garbage trucks unveiled for The Hills Shire

Cleanaway has unveiled its new state-of-the art fleet of garbage trucks for The Hills Shire Council on Tuesday, September 26 at Bella Vista Farm.
The new fleet will comprise of 24 trucks and are all co-branded with Cleanaway and The Hills Shire Council livery.
General Manager of The Hills Shire Council, Michael Edgar said the new trucks were part of a renewed contract of up to 10 years with the waste management company.
“Council would like to thank Cleanaway for the valued service they have provided to residents over the last 10 years and for the future of the renewed contract,” Mr Edgar said.
“Council is bound to ensure that ratepayers receive the best quality, efficient and effective service and Cleanaway has proved time and again, they are reliable, economical and sustainable.
“They are a waste service that can adapt to changes in industry standards and meet the needs of our growing community,” Mr Edgar added.
The new trucks are fitted with noise suppression features including intelligent engine idle programming that ensures the truck engine is working at its most efficient making them quieter than the current fleet.
The trucks are also fitted with automatic reverse smart sensor breaks and up to seven cameras, including a birds-eye camera for enhanced safety.
Additionally, the garbage trucks are fitted with the latest technology and mechanical advancements, which means they release fewer emissions into the environment.
General Manager of Cleanaway, David Clancy said the company was delighted to continue servicing The Hills Shire.

The new waste contract starts on 1st October 2017.
Apart from the new trucks, the contract also includes the rollout of new yellow-lidded bins, which many residents (except residents in new release areas) have already received.
