First Aid is useful in many different situations whether at home, work, or in public locations.

Delivering this program align with Safe Work NSW code of practice that help ensure workers have access to immediate care and treatment and aim to:

  • Preserve life.
  • Prevent illness or injury from becoming worse.
  • Relive pain, if possible
  • Promote recovery.
  • Protect the unconscious.

The Hills Shire Council volunteers are highly encouraged to undergo certification first aid training in compliance to our Council WHS guidelines.

This course is also offered to external volunteers within the Hills Shire Council.

CPR (short for cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a first aid technique that can be used if someone is not breathing properly or if their heart has stopped.

  • CPR is a skill that everyone can learn — you don’t need to be a health professional to do it
  • Try to stay calm if you need to do CPR
  • Performing CPR may save a person’s life
  • If you know CPR, you might save the life of a family member or friend

The course is provided by Rescueblue and delivered by a registered paramedic.

This workshop is exclusively for The Hills Shire Council volunteers and/or local residents volunteering within the Shire.
