Where money meets meaning: building capability, clarity and confidence

Wealth Forum exists to transform financial uncertainty into confidence, capability, and long-term wellbeing for families and business owners across The Hills.

Meet Wealth Forum

Wealth Forum was born from a desire to empower people to feel confident about both money and life decisions.

Founder Sheila Cabacungan began the business sixteen years ago and has since helped over 1200 people in Sydney’s West take control of their money, using money as a foundation for lifestyle, wellbeing and business success. Through personalised advice, education and community initiatives, Wealth Forum turns money into a tool for empowerment not limitation.

Well known in the local area Sheila hosts the Money Maven radio show and leads Mentor2Mentor Connect and Learn, supporting local businesses with practical strategies for growth.

What makes them unique

Wealth Forum brings heart to the numbers. Sheila blends expert financial advice with mentoring, education, and community connection, ensuring clients don’t just get a plan but walk away with clarity, confidence, and practical capability for every season of life.

Her aim is simple:

“Sheila makes money make sense and empowers us to take action.”

Defining success

Success is knowing Wealth Forum has made a positive, measurable difference in people’s lives.

One story that stays with her is a young couple who took out life insurance on her advice when they got married. Twenty years later when one partner was diagnosed with kidney failure she supported them through an income protection claim. That early planning Sheila provided means they can now focus on health and family without the added burden of financial stress.

Sheila is also proud of being named in the 2025 Financial Standard Power 50, recognising financial advisers who elevate the profession, while providing outstanding service to their clients and the wider community.

The journey so far

The support of her connections, clients and community has meant that through the inevitable challenges of running a small business she stayed true to her purpose, embraced innovation and met the challenges head on.

Her advice to new small business owners

“Know your “why” and let it guide every decision.”

Growth has come through word of mouth referrals, collaboration and consistently showing up for the people she serves. One major mindset shift was learning to view money not as a limitation, but as a strategic tool for change.

During the Covid lockdowns, when many business owners were facing closures and sudden drops in income, Sheila received a surge of enquiries from people wanting to withdraw their superannuation under early-release provisions. Instead of simply processing withdrawals, she took a more holistic approach, working with over 100 business owners alongside accountants, finance brokers and mentors to explore alternatives that would protect their long-term wealth.

Through this collaborative effort, Sheila helped 98 business owners avoid dipping into their super, strengthening their financial capability and resilience while supporting them to build a trusted advisory team around their business.

She attributes joining the first Marketing Makeover program run by The Hills Shire Council as the catalyst for shaping her branding, sparking trusted partnerships and helping to scale the Money Maven podcast and Connect and Learn business peer groups into the success they are today.

Doing business in the Hills – looking ahead

Sheila chose the Hills because it’s home - a thriving community where families and businesses grow together. Rouse Hill provides the perfect base for Wealth Forum, positioned at the heart of Sydney’s North-West and supported by a strong local network.

She highlights the regions commitment to connection, education, and collaboration as powerful advantages for small business.

In the next 2 to 5 years, she plans to serve more business owners through the Wealth Forum, expanding Connect and Learn peer groups, and inspiring action through the Money Maven podcast to empower business owners to create lives they love.
