Community Recycling Centres
Community Recycling Centres are permanent drop-off centres for common household problem wastes that are not able to be collected through a kerbside clean-up or through the domestic waste service.
The NSW EPA operate Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) across NSW, which can be accessed FREE of charge by all residents throughout NSW, even if out of the hosting Council area. Household quantities (maximum container size of 20kg or 20L per item) of common household chemicals are accepted at these sites.
Fluorescents globes/tubes are accepted at some CRCs. All NSW householders can drop off wastes at most of these centres year round and free of charge!
One of the closest CRCs for Hills residents is located at Thornleigh and is operated by Hornsby Shire Council.
For more CRC locations and information of what each CRC accepts, visit Hornsby Shire Council's website.
