The Hills Shire boasts a range of beautiful recreation locations including great cycle ways and walking tracks. 

 

The Hills Guided Walks Program

The Hills Walks Program is designed to provide opportunities for residents to explore and learn more about the beautiful bushland reserves of the Garden Shire.

  • These walks follow bushland tracks which are sometimes rough, steep and uneven.
  • Some walks require creeks to be crossed on stepping stones.
  • Some walks have no toilet facilities.
  • All walks last for 2 hours.
  • Wear comfortable, closed shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • For night time walks wear warm clothes and mosquito repellent. Bring a torch.
  • Bring your camera and a drink
  • The exact meeting place for the start of each walk will be advised at the time of booking.

Walk 1 - Heritage Trail Baulkham Hills(PDF, 59MB) - An easy walk on paved paths (2.5 - 3 hours)

Walk 2 - Burraga Track West Pennant Hills(PDF, 13MB) - A moderately difficult walk on rough bush tracks with some steep ups and downs (2.5 hours)

Walk 3 - Heritage Park Castle Hill(PDF, 27MB) - An easy to medium grade walk (there are two steep hills) on paved paths (1.5 hours)

Walk 4 - Wildflower Walk Middle Dural(PDF, 15MB) - A moderately difficult walk on bush tracks with a steep ascent and descent (1.5 hours)

Walk 5 - Forest Walk West Pennant Hills(PDF, 26MB) - A moderate grade walk on formed bush tracks with many steps (1.5 hours)

Walk 6 - Geebung Walk Castle Hill(PDF, 27MB) - An easy to medium walk on formed tracks (2 hours)

Walk 7 - Knightsbridge Circuit Castle Hill(PDF, 28MB) - An easy to moderate walk on paved paths, fire trails and rough bush tracks (2 - 2.5 hours)

Walk 8 - O'Hara's Creek Kenthurst(PDF, 34MB) - A moderate walk on graded fire trail (2.5 hours)

Walk 9 - Platypus Track Castle Hill(PDF, 34MB) - A moderate walk (some steep slopes and creek crossings on stepping stones) on uneven bush paths (1.5 hours)

Walk 10 - Bushland Corridors Rouse Hill(PDF, 27MB) - An easy walk on paved paths and grassed areas (2 hours)

Walk 11 - Stevenson's Creek Baulkham Hills(PDF, 32MB) - A moderate walk (steep sections & creek crossings on stepping stones) on rough bush tracks (2 hours)
