This training will give volunteers the opportunity to ask questions, learn strategies, and gain confidence in order to engage positively with people with disability.

Key learning areas:

  • Understanding the legal and historical context of disability inclusion
  • How to ensure communication is not offensive or disrespectful
  • Definitions of disability in medical and social contexts
  • Why assumptions can be harmful
  • The role of respect in disability inclusion

This event is part of The Hills Shire Council Volunteer Training Program.
