Community Environment Centre Open Day
Next date: Saturday, 13 August 2022 | 12:00 PM
to 04:00 PM
Come along and celebrate the Community Environment Centre Open Day on Saturday, 13 August 2022!
The day will be a celebration of the Centre now being open every Saturday, along with its usual Thursday timeslot.
Information on a range of environment and community topics will be shared on the day through an array of local environmental stalls and community groups, showcasing the important work and projects they conduct within our Hills Shire community.
The stalls will include, but are not limited to, local environmental groups and networks, community art groups, Annangrove Fire Brigade, Australian Wildlife Displays with wildlife talks and interactive shows, the Council Library Automobile, and story-time activities. Coffee will also be available via the Daily Grind coffee cart run by Hills Community Aid.
There will also be tours conducted, showcasing the Community Environment Centre and the native plant and vegetable gardens. Be sure to ask our knowledgeable volunteers for advice on things such as weed identification, planting natives and growing your own food! Additionally, there will be a crop-swap set up to share and exchange produce from your gardens, seed exchange of any surplus seeds you may have and a collection of compost scraps to feed the giant worm farm on-site!
The day is also an opportunity to learn about how to volunteer and what volunteering at the Centre can mean for you.
