CELEBRATE 'IDPwD' WITH A SENSORY - FRIENDLY PARTY

People of all abilities are invited to join a special sensory-friendly celebration for International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) on Saturday, 7 December at the Powerhouse Castle Hill.

IDPwD is recognised internationally and aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. This year’s theme is – ‘Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’.

This FREE event promises a fun, inclusive and engaging day where participants can connect, socialise, and learn more about the many support services available for people with disabilities—all while enjoying a range of exciting activities including:

Silent disco
Roving entertainment, including a special performance from Sally bubbles
Face painting
Craft activities, including making paper helicopters
Mars Rover demonstrations
Disability service provider stallholders

The event will give attendees access to the latest Powerhouse Castle Hill exhibitions.

Attendees will be able to visit a variety of disability service providers who will be present.

A quiet room will also be available for visitors on the day.

A complimentary soft serve ice cream will be available for each ticket holder and Coffee/tea and food items will be available to purchase.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Guide dogs are welcome but they must be appropriately recognised/registered. Please note that pets that are not assistance animals are not permitted on site.
