CancelledArt Exhibition - 15 Artists Reflect on Suffering and the Human Spirit

Station 14 Jesus is Laid in the Tomb Reg Mombassa.jpg

Northmead Uniting Church have been working in conjunction with Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School for the last six years hosting an exhibition of contemporary art focused on the traditional Stations of the Cross - Suffering and the Human Spirit.

This is an innovative partnership between a public high school, the arts community and a local church. Each year we invite 15 leading artists from a range of backgrounds to reflect on one of the traditional stations and to produce an artwork arising from their response to the issues the station raises for them. The artists are chosen, not because of their religious affiliation, many have none, but for the calibre of their art and their ability to reflect on really important questions through their art practice.

This year’s artists include Euan Macleod, Reg Mombassa, Harrie Fasher, Toni Hassan and Chris Auckett (Artist and Teacher of Visual Art and Design – Northmead CAPA High School).

The exhibition will open on Monday 30 March at 6:30pm and will include a curatorial tour, followed by the official opening at 7:30pm.

After the opening night, the exhibition will be open from 10am - 4pm daily until 12 April 2020. Guided tours are available from 2pm on the weekend or by appointment.
