Hills Youth Army
Vision: "The Hills Youth Army (HYA) aims to involve youth in their community through volunteer initiatives, community participation and connections with other youth worldwide.”
Founded in 2014, the Hills Youth Army is dedicated to empowering young people aged 15-24 in the Hills Shire LGA through volunteering opportunities within their local community. The HYA aim to connect young people and Council to become more involved in their community through ‘service to others’ that will indeed help develop their social awareness, leadership and problem-solving skills, and increase community engagement to things that matter the most especially to the youth.
Since then, The Hills Youth Army has supported community events within the Shire such as Orange Blossom Festival, Garage Sale Trail, Sydney Country Music Festival, Paws in the Park, Hills Relay for Life, Mental Health Campaigns, The Mayoral Sleep-out, and Australia Day to name a few.
