Bin collections will occur as normal – even on Public Holidays.

Over the Christmas period, bins are collected as normal, even if your bin day falls on a public holiday. Remember to place your bins out at the kerbside the night before your normal collection day.

Questions about your bin collection? Call the Cleanaway Waste Hotline on 1800 623 895

Can I recycle it?

  • Christmas cards & paper wrapping
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Plastic bottles & containers
  • Glass bottles and jars

  • Christmas lights
  • Artificial Christmas trees
  • Decorations, tinsel & ribbons
  • Bon Bons
  • Toys and clothes
  • Plastic plates and cutlery
  • Plastic bags & film

Top Tip: Collapse cardboard and squash plastic bottles and aluminium cans before placing in your recycling bin to save space.

If you wouldn’t give it to a mate, don’t donate.

Charity shops receive high volumes of donations over the holiday period.  If your local op shop is closed or donation bin is full, don’t leave any items outside. Call ahead or wait for the bin to be emptied to place your donation.
