A new North Kellyville park with a children’s playground has opened - just in time for the school holidays.

Mayor of the Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said Springbrook Boulevard Reserve is another great example of The Hills Shire Council’s commitment to providing more open spaces.

“North Kellyville is a growing community, and the addition of a new park provides a recreational outlet for residents, especially new families who have just moved into the area,” Mayor Byrne said.

“The equipment in the new park has been designed to suit most ages and abilities and this includes a play unit, nest swing, a baby’s seat swing, kick-about play space and a junior basketball play area.

“Parents will be happy to hear that we’ve installed seating, a drink station and there’s a shade sail that provides much-needed protection from the sun - perfect for when the weather heats up.

“Native plants and sandstone blocks have also been incorporated into the overall design, as well as synthetic flooring which provides an added safety element to the community facility,” Mayor Byrne added.

To add to the playground works, Brunette Drive Reserve in Castle Hill has undergone a park makeover.

“We’ve upgraded the equipment to include a modern play unit with slide, and there’s also a large nest swing and traditional swing set,” Mayor Byrne said.

“There’s also a drink station so that you can fill up your water bottle while you play or sit back and relax and enjoy the great outdoors.

“I’m so proud of this Council and its commitment to providing open space facilities that our community can enjoy for years to come,” Mayor Byrne added.
