Live It Up at Youth Week
Published on 29 March 2018
Young people in The Hills are encouraged to take part in Live it Up – Hills Youth Week celebrations, between April 13 and April 22.
Youth Week is an opportunity for young people of the Shire to share ideas, attend live events, showcase their talent, celebrate their contribution to the community and have fun.
“Youth Week reinforces Council’s commitment to the youth of the Shire by celebrating and recognising the value of all young people to our community,” Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said.
Activities range from movie events to family fun days, mindfulness workshops, art and coding workshops and so much more.
“In this Shire, Youth Week has developed into a celebration of activities that reaches a range of young people from all walks of life, and provides them with the opportunity to express their views and act on issues that impact on their lives,” Mayor Byrne said.
“Youth Week is not only important for this community but recognises Council’s commitment to our youngest residents.
“I wish everyone involved in Youth Week a happy celebration and again I commend our young people for their efforts and the work they do to make our Shire a great place to live, grow and play.”
