Christmas in The Hills is set to fill Bella Vista Farm with Christmas cheer on Wednesday, December 13 for the sixth year running.

With community carols, Christmas-themed performances, food stalls and amusement rides on offer – everyone is sure to get into the festive spirit.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said Christmas in The Hills creates the perfect opportunity for people to connect with family and friends, celebrate the joy of Christmas together and support those in need.

“Christmas is a special time of the year to be shared with family and friends - a time when we can get together to spread goodwill and celebrate the season,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Sadly for some, domestic and family violence soars during the holiday season because of stress, money constraints and alcohol consumption.

“This year we are supporting three local charities that help victims of domestic and family violence - and acknowledging the wonderful work they do at Christmas and throughout the year.”

All proceeds raised from the night will be donated to The Sanctuary, Lisa Harnum Foundation and Hills Community Aid.

The Sanctuary and Lisa Harnum Foundation help women escape from situations of domestic violence, while Hills Community Aid focuses on a range of community issues, including family and domestic violence.

“Christmas in The Hills embodies the community spirit that is alive and well in The Hills. I’ll be there with my family and I hope to see you there,” Mayor Byrne added.
