The new Ceres Way Reserve in Box Hill has been officially opened by the Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne on Saturday, November 16.
The new park, which has opened ahead of schedule thanks to an agreement between The Hills Shire Council and the developer, Lindsay Bennelong Developments, includes a playground, pathways, sheltered picnic table, drinking bubbler, landscaped areas and a large kick-about play space.
“There's been a lot of anticipation among residents for Ceres Way Reserve to open,” Mayor Byrne said.
“Box Hill is a fantastic area in the Hills, attracting many new residents, especially families to our region. This new park adds to the attractiveness of Box Hill being a family-friendly area and makes it possible for family and friends to enjoy time together in a wonderful new setting close to home.
“We're very proud of this project and we thank Lindsay Bennelong for the delivery of a first-class recreational asset for residents to enjoy for years to come,” Mayor Byrne added.
Development Manager Luke Hussey from Lindsay Bennelong said Ceres Way Reserve crowns the High Grove Estate, offering a central meeting place for more than 150 families who already call the estate home.
“Ceres Way Reserve has been seamlessly designed to complement High Grove’s fully landscaped homes, offering larger spaces for kicking a ball around and a variety of play equipment for kids of all ages,” he said.
“We’d like to thank The Hills Council for their involvement and allowing us to fast track the delivery of the park for our residents.
“We look forward to welcoming even more residents to The Hills Shire community with High Grove Estate set to house more than 425 families on completion,” Mr Hussey added.
