These FAQs relate to changes to our services due to the closure of all Hills Shire Libraries as a result of the COVID-19 situation, and the subsequent staged reopening of branches.
Are the libraries open?
Yes, Baulkham Hills, Dural and Vinegar Hill Memorial Libraries are open and have resumed their regular opening hours. Castle Hill Library is currently closed for refurbishment.
Will there be conditions of entry I need to follow when visiting the library?
Yes you will need to follow these conditions of entry or you will be asked to leave the library.
How many books can I borrow?
Our borrowing limit is set to 10 items.
Can I return borrowed items now?
Yes. Return facilities are available 24/7 at all of our Hills Shire Libraries
Can I print?
Yes, printing is now available at all of the Hills Shire Libraries. To make your printing easy, download the Hills Shire Library App and upload your printing before you come!
Can I use a computer?
Yes, we now have limited public computers available for 60minute pre-booked sessions. See staff in the library or contact us on 9761 4520 to book.
Is there study space available?
Yes, you can book a table for individual study at Castle Hill or Vinegar Hill Memorial Library at Rouse Hill. Study sessions are on our Eventbrite page. Bookings Essential
If I am unwell, can I come to the library?
No, please do not come to the library if you are unwell.
Can I get my books delivered?
If you are over the age of 65 and live in the local government area, you can access our Stay Home & Read service.
What can I expect when I come to the library?
To keep our communities safe, we will be observing public health guidelines including physical distancing. This means you can expect to see signs, floor markings and hand sanitiser.
Capacity limits will also apply. If the library reaches its capacity, you will have to wait for someone to leave before you can enter.
You must practise good hygiene and use hand sanitiser when entering.
