The Hills Shire Council is pleased to announce the renewal of a series of playgrounds via the 2023/2024 Annual Playground Renewal program.

Council will be renewing and upgrading playgrounds, ensuring playground assets are in good condition and meet safety standards, as well as to improve play experiences.

The NSW Government's Everyone Can Play guidelines are implemented where possible.

The seven playgrounds Council is seeking feedback on are:

The upgrades have been made possible through The Hills Shire Council's Playground Replacement Program, part of Council’s Capital Works Program.

The playgrounds are spread across The Hills local government area. Ageing infrastructure will be replaced, and more challenging play elements installed.

The renewed playgrounds will provide a range of informal recreational opportunities for the local community and will feature a range of facilities consistent with Council’s Recreation Strategy.

The work will include:

  • New playground equipment including climbing, sliding, and swinging elements.
  • Softfall material and play area.
  • New accessible elements.
  • Landscaping.

As part of the community consultation process, Council is inviting the local community to provide feedback on the park designs. Online submissions will close at 5pm, Monday 17 August 2023.

The project team will use your feedback to develop the final playground designs. Feedback will be collated, and everyone who provided feedback will be updated via email and on the project page.

Factors Council will consider include:

  • Desired play experiences
  • Budget for each playground
  • Space constraints
