The Hills Shire Council is committed to providing the services required to support older adults to remain active and participate in their community through clubs, associations and volunteer activities. Between 2011 and 2021, the age structure category with the greatest increase in persons in The Hills Shire is Seniors (aged 70 to 84).

Become a Volunteer
The Hills Shire is very fortunate to have a large and dedicated group of volunteers who play a critical role in helping Council provide important services to the community while forming new friendships and learning new skills.
If you would like to devote some of your time to your community and assist others, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hills Community Care
Hills Community Care provides a variety of services to assist frail aged, persons with dementia, people with disabilities and carer support.
The Hills Shire Councils - Hills Community Care services commenced operations in 1991.
At Hills Community Care we offer assistance so people can maintain an independent and quality lifestyle. Our programs support clients to remain at home and prevent inappropriate or premature admission to residential care.
Hills Community Care also provide a single point of contact for information on aged care, disability services and carer support.

Seniors Groups in The Hills Shire
Castle Hill Senior Citizen Centre
Castle Hill Senior Citizens Club members invite everyone over 55 years to meet a very active and friendly group of Seniors, who each week play Carpet Bowls, Cards and Rummikub at their Club Building.
Come along to our Club one morning and enjoy a tea or coffee and biscuits and make new friends.
On special occasions luncheons are organised either within the Club or at external venues. Coach Tours are also organised if there is sufficient interest.

My Aged Care
The My Aged Care website has been established by the Australian Government to help you navigate the aged care system. My Aged Care is part of the Australian Government’s changes to the aged care system which have been designed to give people more choice, more control and easier access to a full range of aged care services.

The Hills District have established the Shire's first Men's Shed in partnership with The Hills Shire Council and The Rotary Club of Castle Hill.
