Register a Food Business

The Hills Shire Council, in partnership with the NSW Food Authority, is responsible for the monitoring and regulation of retail food businesses within the Shire.

Step 1.What You Need to Know

If your business is within The Hills Shire Local Government Area, you will need to register with Council using the application form below. 

(Please note that as of 1 September 2015, it is no longer a requirement to notify the NSW Food Authority of your food business).

 

Step 2.Fees

Fees are associated with registration and food premises inspections. Annual administration fees are based on the number of food handlers and associated risk categories of the food being sold. For the full fees and charges please read Part 5 of the Hills Shire Plan available here.

Please note: You will be contacted by a council officer regarding fees and charges following completion of the form below. Businesses are also invoiced annually for the full financial year regardless of the date of payment.
