Council will soon carry out the Rose Garden refurbishment construction works.

This work involves the complete refurbishment of the historic rose garden currently in place. This will include the demolition, removal and replacement of the following:

  • The main central staircase through the garden which will include sandstone steps and risers
  • All garden bed edging from bush rock sandstone to metal
  • Paths of concrete and coloured bitumen
  • Bush rock sandstone retaining walls
  • Underground irrigation system
  • Asphalting of maintenance access paths
  • Turf and garden bed reinstatement

Roses currently located in areas that will be impacted by the work will be temporarily transplanted elsewhere on site where they will be irrigated, monitored and expertly cared for until the permanent garden beds are constructed.

Construction works are scheduled to be completed August 2022, weather permitting. Some inconvenience may be experienced during the work and your patience is appreciated.
