The Hills Development Control Plan

A Development Control Plan (DCP) is prepared in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, and is used by applicants and Council to guide the preparation and assessment of development applications.

Council’s adopted The Hills Development Control Plan 2012 (DCP 2012) applies to the Shire. However it only applies to the North Kellyville and Box Hill Growth Centres where specifically identified in the DCPs for those areas.  Links to the North Kellyville and Box Hill SEPPs & DCPs are also available from our Growth Centres page

State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 (the Codes SEPP) specifies exempt and complying development under that Policy. Further information on the General Housing Code and a copy of the Codes SEPP is available here.
