At the Ordinary Meeting of 22 September 2020, Council resolved to exhibit the intention to enter into an operating agreement for the Bernie Mullane Sports Complex with Hills Basketball Association for a period of 20 years (5 + 15 years), following an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
The intention of the EOI was to appoint a management model that would maximise community use of the complex in the interests of a range of sports, and develop the potential of the facility over time, consistent with the approved Master Plan for Bernie Mullane Reserve, and anticipated community needs.
The offer increases the number of courts from two to four, constructs a learn-to-swim pool and improves the café. As outlined in the requirements of the EOI specification a proposed daily schedule of bookings for all existing sports and all existing users (including the gymnasium) has been submitted.
