At its meeting of 10 July 2018, Council resolved to prepare and exhibit amendments to The Hills Development Control Plan 2012 (DCP 2012) to include appropriate controls for Manor Houses.
The Low Rise Medium Density Housing Code (the Code) will come into effect in the Hills Shire on 1 July 2019. The Code provides complying development standards for Manor Houses. In instances where consent under the Code cannot be achieved, development consent must be sought by way of a development application. Manor Houses are a new dwelling type in The Hills and as such there are currently no development controls applicable in DCP 2012.
The draft amendments to DCP 2012 include new parking requirements for Manor Houses within Part C Section 1 – Parking and the creation of a new section (Part B Section 9 – Manor House) which includes development controls that guide minimum lot width, setbacks, private open space, landscaping and solar access.
