PROPOSED NEW SUBURB NAMED ‘RED GABLES’ AND REALIGNMENT OF BOUNDARY BETWEEN BOX HILL AND ROUSE HILL

Council is currently exhibiting proposed suburb boundary realignments and naming of a new suburb in the Box Hill and Rouse Hill localities.

The proposal as recommended would create a new suburb named ‘Red Gables’ and make corresponding changes to the boundaries of the Box Hill, Maraylya and Nelson suburbs. The proposal also seeks to realign the boundary between the Box Hill and Rouse Hill suburbs.

The proposal is reflective of the growth and development occurring within the Box Hill North, Box Hill and Rouse Hill areas. The changes recognise the development of Box Hill North as a locality distinct from Box Hill and the anticipated growth of new communities in Box Hill and Rouse Hill.

The proposed changes take into consideration guidance, criteria and principles provided by the Geographical Names Board of NSW.
