Draft Precinct Plan for Castle Hill North (FP38)

Submissions Close 27 February 2015

Council is seeking comment on a draft Precinct Plan for Castle Hill North.

The draft Precinct Plan is the first step in exploring potential for higher residential densities in the Castle Hill North area. The vision for the precinct is for it to become Castle Hill’s destination for ‘city living’ by introducing more higher density housing in locations within close walking distance to the future railway station and the retail and commercial services of Castle Hill Major Centre.

The draft Precinct Plan has been prepared in response to the introduction of the North West Rail Link to Castle Hill and actions identified in Council’s Residential Direction.

The draft Precinct Plan reviews housing demand, future changes in population and household structure, as well as existing services, facilities and new infrastructure opportunities in the area.

The draft plan identifies potential locations for new 3-storey townhouses as well as apartment buildings between 4 and 20 storeys.
