Amendment to Fees And Charges - Tennis Courts

Proposed changes to fees and charges for tennis court hire came about in response to public consultation and feedback.

The proposed new fees are outlined below. They represent a significant reduction in the hourly rate for clubs, regular hirers and causal hirers. These new proposed hire rates are across all tennis courts regardless of location of court and time of use. 

To date, there has also been a long-standing practice allowing permanent hirers to claim refunds for cancellations or wet weather days. Rain-related refunds are difficult to verify and costly for Council to administer.

As a result, it is proposed that regular hirers of tennis courts are charged in a similar way to regular hirers of sports facilities where weather events are incorporated into the fee structure. This means that the proposed significantly reduced hourly rate should more than compensate regular users for this change in process.

Council’s Fees & Charges for the period 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2016 are to be amended to the following:

These fees and charges are now on public exhibition in accordance with the Local Government Act.

In accordance with the resolution of Council on 10 November 2015 submissions may be made up until 14 December 2015.

If no submissions are received, the revised fees and charges will be adopted seven days after the public exhibition closes.

If submissions are received, a further report will be prepared for consideration by Council.
