The Hills Shire Council's Boarding House Inspection Program

Council staff will inspect a ‘general boarding house’ or an ‘assisted boarding house’ which has been registered on the Register of Boarding Houses administered by the NSW Fair Trading.

Council staff will inspect for compliance with relevant standards relating to building and fire safety. The initial compliance inspections will be carried out within 12 months of registration or re-registration (unless the boarding house has been inspected in the preceding 12 months) and within 12 months of a change of proprietor. An appropriate inspection fee of $130 per hour (as per Council’s 2013–2014 proposed fees and charges) or any part thereof will be charged for conducting the initial compliance inspection.

 

Public Exhibition Period: The Hills Shire Council’s Boarding House Inspection Program is available for inspection from Tuesday, 28 May 2013 to Friday, 28 June 2013 at the following locations:

Council’s Customer Service Centre

Castle Hill Library: Cnr of Castle and Pennant Streets, Castle Hill. Between the hours of: Monday–Friday:

10am–8pm; Saturday: 10am–5pm; Sunday 1pm–5pm
