The Hills Building and Design Awards 2009

The Hills Building and Design Awards have become the one annual design competition in the Hills area that expresses the many and varied aspects of all building and design. These Awards symbolise the pinnacle of achievement in this Shire’s building industry.

The quality of design in the entries over past years proves that the members of the local building industry are more than architectural technicians, they are state of the art building and design professionals.

With the fast paced residential growth of our Shire, the announcement of major infrastructure and new land releases, The Hills Shire Council is responsible for maintaining communities where residents can live, work, enjoy recreational activities, and access services.

We are committed to working with our local industry to build comprehensive community development that fosters vibrant, diverse and sustainable communities with the best outcomes including, best design and a superior environment in which to live, both now and in the future.

The Hills Building and Design Awards promote excellence in building and design; and establishes a focus on the importance of the building designer in Hills area whilst also provide the opportunity to builders and designers to showcase their designs and set new standards that make a positive impact on the local building industry.

The Hills Building and Design Awards showcase many innovative urban designs in residential living and commercial/industrial developments that have enriched our public space and streetscapes.

The Awards demonstrate best practice in relation to the building & design of the structures in our Shire, and The Hills Shire Council winners of these Awards for demonstration of excellence in this area.
