All Databases are available at all branches of the Library Service. Many can also be accessed by Library members from home by clicking on the Database link, and entering your library card number.

IMPORTANT Conditions of Use:

Online Databases are governed by license agreements and are for personal, non-commercial use only. Specific license conditions for use of individual databases can be found within that database under headings such as “Terms of Use”, “Legal Information”, “Conditions of Use” or similar. This Database provides access to the entire text of the 34 volumes of the Oxford Dictionary of Art. Subjects covered include the visual arts, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts and photography.

The Oxford Music Online Database is an integrated music resource with encyclopaedia entries, written music examples and biographies of composers and performers. It includes the full text of the New Oxford Dictionary of Music & Musicians (29 volumes), the New Oxford Dictionary of Opera (4 volumes), and New Oxford Dictionary of Jazz (3 volumes).

The OED is an historical dictionary of English, covering the language from the earliest times to the present day. It provides current meanings and pronunciation as well as the history and usage of words.

LRC is a completely full-text database that combines information on authors and their works from over 1,000 books, major literary encyclopaedias and reference works, hundreds of literary journals, and unique sources not available anywhere else.

This database can be used to look for books by author, title, series, plot description or level of readership. NoveList also includes reviews, annotations, Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists.

Access Science is a database that has digitised the McGraw-Hill Encyclopaedia of Science and Technology. New South Wales State Library Reader's Card Registration

The NSW State Library provides access from home to a selection of multi-disciplinary and comprehensive databases, including ProQuest 5000 and INFORMIT Online. To gain access to the databases you must be a New South Wales resident, must also be registered as a State Library client and must read and agree to conditions of access. The Building Service New South Wales Online offers all information and material found in the loose leaf print version in an easily accessible and user friendly format.
