On-Call Kerbside Clean Up Service and Mattress Recycling
Request a Kerbside Clean-Up
You may request an On-Call Kerbside Clean Up Service up to twice in the calendar year and when you do so your clean up date will be provided to you within 14-21 days of the call or e-request being registered. The actual clean up day will commence on the same day as your normal garbage day and may be collected over two days.
Residents living in units/townhouses & villas are to request a cleanup through the Strata Management or Body Corporate.
The Waste Hotline is very busy at times so please be patient. The line may be busy, please feel free to leave a message with your name and the best number to contact you on and someone will return your call the same day or alternatively use Council's Online E-request System confirming that you would like to book a cleanup and a Council Officer will arrange this for you.
Residents SHOULD NOT place materials at the kerbside unless a clean up booking has been made. Bookings are taken on behalf of Council by its collection contractor, Cleanaway.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CLEAN-UP MATERIALS ARE ONLY TO BE PLACED ON THE KERB THE NIGHT BEFORE THE COLLECTION DATE.
PLEASE TAKE BULKY ITEMS TO THE KERB AT THE TIME OF TAKING YOUR GARBAGE BINS FOR COLLECTION.
MATERIALS PLACED AT THE KERBSIDE WITHOUT A BOOKING MAY INCUR A PENALTY.

Mattress Recycling

There are about 1.25 million mattresses sent to landfill each year and audits of Council's clean-up service identify them as one of the most popular items placed out for collection.
All mattresses put out for a kerbside on call clean up are being collected separately by Soft Landing - A Social Enterprise of Mission Australia who recycle them or prepare them for reuse and send to local charities. For more information visit www.softlanding.com.au.
If you are booking an on-call cleanup and have a mattress to put out, please notify staff when making the booking so that it can be collected separately. To confirm your booking a letter and a sticker to be placed on the mattress will be sent in addition to the normal clean up letter.
Please note: If you only have a mattress to put out for collection this will not count as one of your two Kerbside Cleanups. Your booking will be within 14-21 days of your telephone call.
