About North Rocks Child Care Centre

 

North Rocks Child Care Centre Carlingford, a not-for-profit 52 place service, has been catering for children aged 0-5 years for 23 years and operates from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday. The centre is located in a parkland setting away from the main traffic routes but still in close proximity to the M2 and M2 bus service.

The centre offers:

Outdoor Play Areas

  • A specially designed playground offers children large spaces to run and play. It includes a large sandpit, a digging patch, a vegetable garden, a cubby house, an elevated lookout and a nature garden.
  • Lots of shade is provided by shade structures and large leafy trees.
  • A wide range of equipment and toys supports children’s physical development.

 

Children’s Programs

  • Learning programs for each group follow an emergent curriculum approach which is spontaneous and responsive to the interests of children and reflective of the cultural diversity of the families. 
  • A full pre-school program for the 4-5s helps support a smooth transition to school.
  • Staff observe and plan for each child and their learning is supported with a wide range of equipment, books, toys and materials.
  • The small 0-2 room provides a caring, supportive environment for very young children and infants with high staff-to-child ratios.
