Weekly Mayor's Message - The Hills Shire Council
Of the three spheres of government, it is local government, your council, that maintains closest ties with the community. The weekly Mayor's Message is an opportunity to report to our ratepayers on a regular basis, and highlight the achievements and issues that are of concern to all of us.

Thank You Moscow Circus
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Great Moscow Circus, after organisers donated 500 tickets for me to allocate to local charities.
The Mayor's Charity Night helped raise more than $5000 for the disability unit at Jasper Road Public School and Community Foundation of North West Sydney.
It was a real pleasure to see a high-quality display of acrobatics, stunts and those motorcycle daredevils.
It's always good to see the Castle Hill Showground being utilised by an array of performing arts and special interest groups.
There are so many charities operating within our Shire doing such valuable work for our community – and it was great to be able to offer this opportunity to these two.
We are the generous Shire and I'm proud of the fact that our residents are some of the most charitable in NSW.
So to see a top quality performing arts group come into town, put on a brilliant show and give back to the community - it's very pleasing.
I'd like to thank the organisers of the Great Moscow Circus - they're more than welcome to return – and I encourage everyone to get along to see the Show while they are in Sydney.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Clr Dr Michelle Byrne
