Cities for Climate Protection

The Hills Shire Council became a Cities for Climate Protection member in December 1999. As a program member Council is required to achieve five strategic greenhouse reduction milestones and thus take a leading role in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions at the local community level. Within Western Sydney The Hills Shire is taking a leadership role within the Cities for Climate Protection program and is one of the first Councils in the region to meet the milestone targets.
