The Community Builders Funding Program is a community strengthening and capacity building program. The Program includes both fixed term funding available each year for new projects, and a renewable component that comprises former Community Services Grants Program (CSGP) services that have transferred to the Community Builders Program.

The Community Builders Fixed Term program funds not-for-profit organisations and local government authorities in Community Builders Fixed Term regions to undertake local projects to build community capacity and connect vulnerable and disadvantaged people with their community.

Applications can only be completed and submitted using the online application form .

Applicants should read the Request For Tenders Information Package, Community Builders Program Guidelines 2012 and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), available for download below.

Who can apply?

Only not-for-profit legal entities and local government authorities which have an Australian Business Number (ABN) may apply.  In exceptional circumstances applicants who identify a community need and require an auspice for their project may approach another NSW government agency where that agency is the only possible choice of auspice for that community.

Where is the funding available?

The fixed term funding is available for new projects in the following Community Builders Fixed Term regions and local government areas:

Metro West

Auburn‚ Blacktown‚ Blue Mountains‚ Hawkesbury‚ Holroyd‚ Parramatta‚ Penrith‚ The Hills.

How much funding is available?

A minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $100,000 each year for between one and three years is available for each project. The maximum available is therefore $300,000 per project over three years (plus GST).

What will NOT be funded?

Direct service delivery to individuals or groups‚ or projects that are part of the work and responsibility of another government department can't be funded. Projects that are eligible for funding another state or federal grants program, or that are duplicating projects already in operation, or seeking funds for a motorised vehicle also cannot be funded.
