The 2011 round will open late this year, please return to this section of the website for further updates or further information on Community Builders can be found on the Community Builders website - www.communitybuilders.nsw.gov.au

Community Builders is a community strengthening and capacity building program. There are three areas that eligible organisations can apply for funding under this program:

  • Community capacity building
  • Community skills development
  • Community sector development

The main objective of Community Builders is to enhance communities’ social infrastructure in order to contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities. It does this by funding locally initiated projects that are strategic, deliver community strengthening outcomes, and address identified regional priorities.

Applicants will need to show evidence that their identified target groups are disadvantaged in the community and are a priority group for their community. The type of evidence required is based on the size, length and amount of funding the project involves and may include things like newspaper articles, statistics from Council social plans, ABS data, research conducted by the organisation or other organisations etc.

Priority groups are disadvantaged members of the community who lack access to fundamental material social resources and/or are socially excluded.

If you would like to apply for a Community Builders grant, it would be of benefit to your organisation please contact Council's Community Services Officer on 9843 0322 during business hours.
