Cemetery Information
Castle Hill Cemetery
Background.jpg)
Castle Hill Cemetery is a unique haven located within a tranquil bushland setting, yet centrally placed in the vibrant and growing residential suburb of Castle Hill. It is considered imperative that the peace, tranquillity and natural beauty of the cemetery is maintained and enhanced in the future. To this end a Plan of Management has been commissioned to ensure that the cemetery continues to cater for the needs of the community but also ensures the long term conservation and protection of the remnant forest.
Management and Control
Castle Hill Cemetery is managed and controlled by The Hills Shire Council and caters for all types of interments including underground, aboveground and ashes. The Friends of Castle Hill Cemetery form a volunteer 355 Committee which meets regularly and, in conjunction with Council, works towards improving the appearance and facilities of the cemetery. Members of the public are invited to join the Friends and may contact the Secretary, Mike Fagan, on 9634 1214.
Location.jpg)
Castle Hill Cemetery is located on Gilbert Road, Castle Hill, adjacent to the Hills District Pony Club (UBD Map 150). The Cemetery occupies 8.2ha of land much of which is covered by remnant Sydney Transition Forest.
Opening Hours
The cemetery gates are open 7 days from 7.30am to 6.00pm except during daylight saving time when the gates are open from 7.30am to 7.30pm.
Enquiries
There is no office located at the cemetery. All enquiries should be directed to the Customer Services Team of Council on 9843 0126 or by visiting Council's Administration Centre at 129 Showground Road, Castle Hill.
