Australia Day Changes to Program Due to Wet Weather
Due to the extreme wet weather conditions the grounds at Balcombe Heights Estate have been deemed unsafe and unfortuately this event has been cancelled.

Australia Day in The Hills Shire is celebrated through a number of activities and events
Each year flag raising ceremonies are conducted throughout the shire attended by Councillors, local MP's and community members.
FLAG RAISING CEREMONIES
8:00am - NORTH ROCKS PARK - BBQ Breakfast (gold coin donation)
8:00am - HERITAGE PARK, CASTLE HILL - BBQ Breakfast
9:00am - KELLYVILLE ROTARY PARK - EVENT CANCELLED
9:30am - ROTARY PARK KENTHURST - Morning Tea provided
10:00am - GLENORIE MEMORIAL HALL - Hall open until 4pm with historical photograph exhibition
11:00am - ANNANGROVE PARK
11:00am - WISEMANS FERRY BOWLING CLUB - Music, Aussie Food and Dress Ups
11:30am - CASTLE TOWERS & OLD NORTHERN ROAD, CASTLE HILL - this event has been moved inside Castle Towers. A Stage will be positioned opposite the David Jones entry on the middle level. Children's activities, entertainment and a speech the our Australia Day Amabassador Dr Paul Brock will still go ahead.
THE AUSTRALIA DAY MAIN EVENT
Council's main event for Australia Day usually attracts over 15,000 people and is held at
Balcombe Heights Estate, 92 Seven Hills Road, Baulkham Hills,
4pm - 9 pm
(opposite Jasper Road Public School). Massive Fireworks at 9:00pm
The 2012 event includes free rides, entertainment, food stalls and activities finishing with spectacular fireworks.
2012 welcomes "My Future Lies" and "Dragon" as our entertainment headliners.
Local performance groups will add to the colour and excitement with the 'Bluey the Kangaroo' show.

5:30 pm - Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Show
6:00 pm - Sister2Sister
6:30 pm - Dress Up Oz Competition

9:00 pm - Affirmation Ceremony, Flag lowering and National Anthem

Citizenship Ceremony
Council hold's an Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony each year, this is a 'by invitation only' event.

OzSpeak – Australia Day Public Speaking Competition
‘OZ Speak’ is The Hills Shire’s Australia Day Public Speaking Competition that, now in its eleventh year. This program has become the platform for many local school students to have their say on various subjects. Students from across the Shire battle it out to be named ‘Best Public Speaker’ of the year.
