A Sustainable World in the Hills Business ProjectThe Hills Shire Council invites you, and your business, to join in an exciting new environmental project entitled ‘A Sustainable World in the Hills’.

‘A Sustainable World in the Hills’ is a project funded by the NSW Environmental Trust, with Council’s Business Sustainability Project Officer, at no cost to your business, available to offer mentoring and expertise in reviewing its sustainability performance through a detailed assessment of its current ecological footprint.

This project is designed to offer practical suggestions to improve the sustainability credentials of your business, resulting in financial, social and environmental benefits. Through this project, you will be encouraged to commit to implementing and maintaining sustainability measures within your core business operations.

As consumers and suppliers are continually looking towards businesses that produce environmentally sensitive products or which use ecologically friendly processes – ‘Green Businesses’, including sustainability within the workplace is rapidly becoming a business tool and a market advantage. The opportunity of promoting your business as having an environmental edge over your competitors!

Claiming to be a ‘Green Business’ requires real action. It’s about honest marketing by businesses, retailers, companies - whatever their size and turnover.

Council is offering a partnership to businesses to lay the foundations of a ‘Green Business’ through a ‘5 Steps and Beyond – Journey’
